The Pryor Busters is an organization chartered by the Academy of Model Aeronautics.
The national headquarters are located in Muncie, Indiana.
-
The Pryor Prop Busters Club is made up of a group of individuals of all ages who are
dedicated to furthering the hobby/sport of model aviation.
-
We encourage the building and flying of radio-controlled airplanes, jets and helicopters, and we
have experienced members willing to help in the building process and instruct new members
in the proper set-up and flying of their projects.
-
Our club officers include: a president, a vice-president, a secretary-treasurer, a field safety officer,
a field marshal and newsletter editor.
-
Our flying field is located 4 1/2 miles East of Pryor on Hwy. 20. Entrance to the field is-off the South
side of the Hwy. We have a 300 ft. concrete runway and at 48 ft. covered pit area. Access to the
field is through a gate which is kept locked except when club members represent.
-
Visitors are always welcome when we are flying. We have seating outside the pit area for our
guests comfort. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the premises.
-
Joining the Club is easy. There is a $30.00 initiation fee which includes our official cap, A.M.A./club
name badge and your first months dues. Club dues are then $10.00 a month or $100.00 a year for the
first 3 years. After 3 consecutive years as a club member the dues drop to $50.00 a year.
-
In addition to club dues, you will be required to join The Academy of Model Aeronautics. This is a
prerequisite not only at our field but at any A.M.A. chartered club field in the United States. The
annual dues are $48.00 for an open membership. There are discounted rates for junior and senior members.
This fee entitles you to $2,500,000.00 worth of flight liability insurance and the A.M.A.'s monthly magazine,
Model Aviation. As a member of the A.M.A., you can also take advantage of numerous personal insurance
plans and special promotions.
-
We hold regular monthly meetings once a month. The meetings consist of a business meeting and
occasionally an instructional talk or video. At some meetings we have R/C flying videos and/or refreshments
and there is always plenty of "hanger flying". Our newsletter editor also puts out a fine newsletter every month
to keep members abreast of club news and activities. The newsletter is mailed to each member.
-
If you think you might be interested in radio-controlled aviation, come out and visit our field. The club
members will be happy to visit with you and answer any of your questions. You might even get to try your
hand at flying an airplane!
